CHLOÉ CHRISTMAS CAPSULE COLLECTION

CHRISTMAS CAPSULE COLLECTION

In honor of the Christmas Holiday season, Chloé is introducing a range of limited edition bags, small leather goods, sunglasses and jewelry, all available in stores from mid-November.

Each item has been exclusively designed to represent the symbiotic association between the ateliers’ craftsmanship and the rich charisma of the holidays.

Designed by Clare Waight Keller and introduced on Pre-Fall 2014, the Drew bag has rapidly turned into one of Chloe's most distinguished accessories. It was only fair to render the Drew in an exceptional way for Christmas. Dipped into rose and white gold, depending on the model, the luscious vegetal leather begins to sparkle and the chain and lock systems start to blaze. The hand-painted edges highlight the bag’s elegant curves, accentuating the ease that the Drew Bag is the must-have day-to-evening accessory. This bag turned jewel is well accompanied with the classic Baylee wallet which has received a delicate golden veil. Should the sun starts to shine in the winter, or even if it doesn’t, customers will find two pairs of sunglasses referencing the gold’s hues applied to the leather goods.

Six pieces of jewelry complete the collection. Two handmade rings and a cuff, each entirely covered by crystals, produce a rough texture inspired by ocean corals.

For a more polished attire, Chloé girls will favor additional bracelets and rings embellished with pearls, paved of Swarovski crystals.

Antonym - Natural beauty

A world where the beauty of opposites comes to life.
Where we embrace the tension between the expected and the unexpected.
Discover beauty in the intangible.
Romance the possibilities for reinvention.
Reinterpret the raw, timeless qualities of natural elements with a futuristic vision.
Antonym is a sophisticated expression of art, energy, and experience
brought to life for the modern soul.
Antonym Jewelry is produced and hand finished in the USA.

Finding inspiration in the richness of both ancient cultures and modern cities,
designer Shannon Mikolas has created three unexpected jewelry collections for Antonym.
At once glamorous and subtle, every piece is rare and sculptural—as unique as the person
who wears it. Shannon brings her deeply nuanced sense of design, space, and architecture
to luxurious contemporary design for the modern aesthete.

ANCIENT
Revel in restrained opulence, inspired by the exquisite workmanship
of centuries-old craftsmanship and design.
This is statement-making power meant to stand the test of time.

NEOTERIC

With its fluid shapes and lines, Neoteric offers a minimalist, modern

counterpoint to Antonym. Designed to frame and accentuate the

natural lines of the wrist, hand, and neck, every piece is a study in subtlety.

RELIC
Relic is a discovery of sculptural singularity. Each piece offers
an intriguing anomaly to the notion of a personal keepsake.

The various forms found in nature can often be quite minimalist. Antonym is a new house of jewelry to capture the precious elements of earth and shape them with the structural style of modernism. Antonym is handcrafted in the United States by designer Shannon Mikolas, whose global explorations and years spent as a stylist serve as the creative bridge between her eye and skill. The idea for the label came while Shannon was on a long jaunt through the Rockies, mesmerized by the many shapes and color sequences along the road. Shannon's fascination with art and design began as a child, and after pursuing a degree in visual communications, she found herself focusing on styling work as well as joining Holt Renfrew’s creative team for several years. After her fateful escape to the lush, rocky terrain, it became clear that it was time to hone her experience and passion into her own line. Jewelry was the obvious focal point, as Shannon has always seen the accessories as wearable sculpture. Her foremost influences — ancient cultures, Eastern lines and early 20th century aesthetics — culminate in Antonym, as an intersection of seeming contradictions that speak to the contemporary sensibility.

The house launches with three distinct collections that showcase Mikolas' cross-current philosophy. Antonym is created with only with the finest of materials — gold and silver bases cradle precious raw stones — and each collection unearths a unique expression of its materials. While all different, the three lines are in constant conversation with one another and blend as seamlessly as their opposing influences.

Relic is defined by its sculptural symmetry with fanciful ornamentation reminiscent of the Art Nouveau Paris Metro and natural elements of North America. Filigreed silver and gold showcase onyx, quartz, aventurine, moonstone and labradorite in cuffs, rings and pendant necklaces; each piece taps into its stones' healing properties, held long in belief by tribal traditions of the Celts, Inuits and China.
Ancient holds the wisdom and workmanship of the great empires of Byzantium, Greece, Rome and the Ottomans; and centers around the most beguiling of precious stones, Lapis Lazuli, which the great civilizations revered for its innate and irresistible glamour. The stately collar, chandelier earrings, cuff and cocktail ring set in gold vermeil are timeless and ever opulent.
Neoteric acts as a counter-point, where the architectural sleekness of Bauhaus and the Tokyo and Shanghai skylines come alive in minimalist cuffs, rings and necklaces. This collection is a meeting point of metals, and is bold in its subtlety.

Antonym, for the modern soul by a modern soul, unleashes the global perspective of Mikolas herself and the very world in which we live.

Prada exhibition

Costumes designed by Miuccia Prada and Catherine Martin

for Baz Lurhmann’s upcoming film of The Great Gatsby

to be on display in New York, Tokyo and Shanghai

A special exhibition of selected costumes designed by Miuccia Prada and costume designer Catherine Martin for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming film adaptation of The Great Gatsby will be on display May 1 – 12, 2013 at the Prada New York Epicenter at 575 Broadway in New York City. The exhibition will then travel and appear at the Prada Tokyo Epicenter store from June 14 – 30 and the IFC Mall in Shanghai mid-July.

An Academy Award® and Tony® winning costume designer and art director, Catherine Martin is world-renowned for her collaborations with husband Baz Lurhmann on the films Strictly Ballroom, Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge and the Broadway stage design for La Bohéme. The exhibition titled Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada Dress Gatsby includes women’s gowns, dresses, hats, shoes and jewelry as well as sketches, production stills, backstage footage and film trailers. The exhibition opening will coincide with the world première of Luhrmann’s film The Great Gatsby on May 1 at the Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall. The Great Gatsby will go on to open the 66th Cannes International Film Festival on May 15, 2013.

Very strict guidelines came from Catherine Martin in terms of references and details on fabrics, colors, materials that had to be period accurate, but modern at the same time. While working on the costumes, Miuccia Prada realized how many pieces created for the Prada and Miu Miu runways in different seasons had a very ‘20s mood once integrated in the movie’s direction. At once historical and utterly contemporary, the dresses are realized in brilliant iridescent metallic lamé, sequins, silk taffeta, dyed fur, velvet and styled with fantastical hats, shoes and accessories.

The exhibition includes mannequins displaying looks for each character coupled with video content drawn from the film and behind-the-scenes and, for the New York Epicenter, a two hundred foot mural depicting a montage drawn from the spectacular party scenes showing Jay Gatsby’s Long Island mansion. The exhibition - curated by New York studio 2x4 - is designed to change for each iteration and reflect the unique characteristics of each location.

I costumi disegnati da Miuccia Prada e Catherine Martin

per il nuovo film di Baz Lurhmann ‘Il Grande Gatsby’

in mostra a New York, Tokyo e Shanghai

DONNA KARAN NEW YORK

SENSUAL, SOULFUL, SCULPTURAL

You can only be who you are...

"I am a New York woman, embracing the world.
Designing clothes that move day to night,
Monday to Sunday in any city, every culture.
My husband Stephan—his art and soul—is a part of me,
Inspiring and guiding me to sculpt the body with expression.
This collection is the evolution of Seven Easy Pieces,
A system where the body and spirit communicate
The sensuality and power of being a woman,
With multiple passions, constantly on the go.
The foundation is a jersey body—
a mix of matte, shine, sheer and skin— whether a bodysuit,
dress, skirt, jumpsuit, slouch jodphurs or leggings.
Then comes the new architectural elements:
Accessories that create endless possibilities,
to individualize, set the mood. THE CAPE —
liquid or structured—reveals and conceals
as a scarf over dress, jacket, pant or skirt.
THE COWL , CUFFS or VEST—curly or long tipped shearling—
add volume and glamour. Suit up with a bodyjacket
with contrast sculpted sleeves, in stretch corrugated felt,
tweeds, leather and suede; The perfect classic camel
in curvaceous neoprene/cashmere jackets and coats.
Finish with the ultimate topper, graphically pieced together—
a devore haircalf car coat. The curly shearling,
nylon and suede pieces worn separately
or combined into a truly knock–out look.
Everything unites with a textured urban palette—
Essential Black, every shade of Metal, earthy Bark and raw Rust.
Accessories are skin on skin: Sculpted leather body jewelry
sliced with silver or gold in cuffs, collars and belts.
Elbow length suede gloves. Iconic Evolution hosiery.
Pure suede platform shoes or over–the–knee wedge boots.
And a shearling handbag to carry your day.
Evening paints the body with artisan strokes—
From the simplicity of a jersey body that sculpts the form,
To the height of luxury in velvets, satins and sequins,
Each an individual force of artistry and seduction.
These are clothes for women like me—
Who live and work 24/7 with passion and dress with emotion.
I believe the body talks a language all its own.
Depending on your DNA , these clothes say something new
every time And create a statement all your own"

With the large number of engagements and weddings occurring this year, 2013 definitely deserves the term "the year of romance." Combine this romantic attribute with that of the rise of vogue styles and you'll get wedding dresses that are a culmination of contemporary glamour and all things fairytale-esque. Boasting gorgeous silhouettes, the following wedding dress styles will definitely be flying off the racks in no time.

Soft pleats and sleeves that double up as a form-fitting cape, this dress is almost a reminiscent of the type of love affairs you'd find in books with happily ever afters. What makes this dress fashion-forward though is the column silhouette that creates the illusion of a long, lean figure and speaks of a style that's quite the hottie right now: the minimalist

If you're not one for simple and fuss-free styles then you'll be glad to know that poofy is back in as well but by that, we mean voluminous skirts. A fitted bodice will complement tiers and tiers of the ruffly goodness that is the skirt and if you want to take things up a notch, opt for a bodice that's embellished or embroidered or even add some texture to it just like those on this dress

A sweetheart neckline can do no wrong in the romantic department and with modern touches here and there, you'll get an über hot dress, just like this one. Pickups in the skirt along with the A-line structure gives it more character and cinching it in at the waistline with a simple ribbon and brooch? Brilliant idea!

For fans of the increasingly trendy midi dress, you can rejoice as well because midi bridal dresses are becoming quite a hit with brides. Inject some romance into your look by opting for something like this dress with its intricate embroideries and embellishments that match up perfectly with the soft ruffles at the bottom of the skirt

If you want to go even shorter with the hemline then go on ahead! Cocktail-length bridal dresses are trés chic this year. Opt for one with an A-line or skater skirt for a flattering silhouette and, just like this dress, why not add on the aforementioned hot style - the sweetheart neckline - too for a look that's doubles up on the hot factor.
Whatever styles you do go with, keep comfort in mind so you'll not only look but also feel amazing!
