The twisted allure of a classic screen villainess is now captured in a shoe, thanks to a new collaboration between Christian Louboutin and Angelina Jolie.
To mark the May 30th release of Disney’s Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie, Louboutin crafted a shoe that turned out just as spellbinding as Jolie’s character.
Louboutin worked alongside Jolie, a long-time supporter of Christian’s work, to bring the project to life.
“It is exciting to work with someone who has such a strong aesthetic and character. Getting to know Angelina through a fun collaboration has been one of my GREATEST pleasures!!!” said Louboutin.
The limited-edition shoe, named Malangeli, features a sculpted heel that curls away from the wedge sole like a tendril of smoke. Its patent leather body enshrouds a nude mesh base, further promoting an illusion of magic. The result is an exclusive shoe that’s dark, dangerous and altogether seductive, on the red carpet and off.
The shoes were handcrafted in Louboutin’s Paris atelier. This limited edition style is available in black and red patent leather through pre-order at five Christian Louboutin flagship boutiques worldwide from October 20th 2014. Profits from sales will benefit SOS Children’s Villages, the world’s largest organization dedicated to orphaned and abandoned children. Supported by Angelina Jolie since 2003, SOS Children’s Villages provides stable, loving homes, as well as education, medical and outreach programs, which help make a positive impact on the lives of over 1 million people each year.

A woman’s beauty has always been at the centre of Louboutin’s inspiration, and the Summer of 2014 will welcome Christian Louboutin Beauté.
