PHILIPP PLEIN

After the great success of his first boutique in Via Della Spiga 25, Philipp Plein is proud to announce the opening of his second flagship store in Milan, in via Montenapoleone 23, one of the most iconic fashionable shopping streets.

PHILIPP PLEIN founded his eponymous brand interpreting a new contemporary luxury lifestyle for men's, women's and children´s clothing and accessories.

Covering 150 square meters, the boutique has been carefully designed and conceived by Philipp Plein   together with the Milanese architectural firm AquiliAlberg and unveils a new concept for the brand, refined yet impactful. Massive blocks of marble with steel finishings, contrasting areas of light and shadow, selected materials and attention to every detail create a unique shopping experience. The products are displayed like authentic pieces of art.

PHILIPP PLEIN´s hexagonal logo along with black and white marble are the signature elements of this store, recurring on walls, ceilings and display cases. The new black version of the iconic skull studded with CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements is unveiled and reigns in the center of the store while Murano glass chandeliers in dark grey give off a ravishing fume´ effect.

The new store is a  dedicated space for women´s and children´s collections including accessories, shoes, bags and jewelry, while the boutique in Via della Spiga will  be destined exclusively  to the menswear collections.

The designer states: "Italy is the country where I produce my designs and Milan is the city where I present my collections during the fashion weeks. Here I opened my first showroom in 2009, followed by Hong Kong in 2012 and New York in 2013. In these few years the brand has grown incessantly becoming global and distributed in more than 64 countries.  I am both proud and thrilled to open on this renowned street, and I decided to create a true work of art for this special flagship, a tribute to a city that has contributed so much to my success."

A water arena at dusk, a sultry tune   floats  over the crowd  while a chorus of  synchronized swimmers   begins a sensuous  water ballet .This is the backdrop for PHILIPP PLEIN’S Water World fashion show  for spring/summer 2015.
The evenings revs up with  American rapper  Theophilus  London jet skiing across the pool  while performing  his hit ''Tribe'', giving way to the start of the show. Models appear on the poolside runway, clad in the new collection inspired by the water world, the Navy, and exotic destinations, and designed for an adventurous and ironic man, who is keen on details. Special guest ITALIA INDEPENDENT, provided  iconic sunglasses exclusively for the show.
Outerwear is often embellished with hand stitched metal wire patches, depicting classic marine elements such as anchors recalling the world of sailors and captains, but reinterpreted in the edgy and ironic PHILIPP PLEIN mood.
News of the season:  the color block suits in blue, red and optical white in addition to precious sandals covered by studs. Double-breasted blazers and bomber jackets come to life in exaggerated prints inspired by the underwater world and exotic flora and fauna sporting cartoon sharks, toucans and bougainvillea.
Denim-wear features sharp cuts and refined craftsmanship. The skinny denim pants are highly distressed complete with skin revealing slips. An iconic piece, destined to become the IT item of the season.
Strong attention is paid to accessories and materials, including exotic leathers such as laminated python and alligator with a unique matte carbon effect. Tote bags are in printed canvas combined with Saffiano leather and iconic ABS studs.
The result is a polished collection loaded with denim and prints comprising state of the art materials and treatments, designed for a PHILIPP PLEIN water world captain.
To close the show, a tandem jet ski acrobatic exhibition to accompany the models filing out followed by designer Philipp Plein, who states:

"I designed this collection for a self-confident man, adventurous and ironic just like me. Water represents energy and power, this is why the man I imagined favors marine details and prints. He is a modern captain, a water world captain."
