Pierre Balmain

Pierre Balmain opens its first boutique in Milan

Paris and Milan, 13 June 2013, Pierre Balmain, the energetic, urban second line from Balmain Paris, is set to open its first shop in Milan on June 22nd in the Gallarati Palace which dates from 1700. The store's mood, in keeping with Pierre Balmain's design heritage, dramatically combines past and future in a 1945-50's meets 21st century way with an interior design which plays on matte and shine elements punctuated with brass accents.

« We're extremely excited to be partnering with Ittierre SpA on the opening of this first Milanese Pierre Balmain shop. The brand's unique blend of Parisian chic and street flair appeals particularly to Italian customers who love fashion that is haute but also fun. They're quite savvy in their choices and Pierre Balmain has seen particularly strong growth in the Italian market. In addition, this prime location, in the heart of Milan's luxury triangle is the ideal showcase for a young and growing brand like Pierre Balmain," says Alain Hivelin, Chairman Balmain Paris.
Alessandro Locatelli, general director of Ittierre SpA concurs «The timing is just right for a Pierre Balmain store opening. The brand has been growing by leaps and bounds since its launch in 2011. It's become a major player in the contemporary fashion sector and so we are quite confident that this store will be successful and serve as a model for more to come in Italy and Europe."
The intimate, 120sqm store will stock both the brand's men's and women's collections as well as bags, shoes and other accessories. Pierre Balmain's elegant, Parisian chic is evoked in the choice of graphic black and white for the entrance floor, while the shop's additional two rooms conserve the original floor of this somber, Milanese baroque building.
The shop's entrance which is fronted by two windows is at 5 via Borgospesso, but it can also be accessed through the IT'S30 store at 30 via Manzoni.
Pierre Balmain, which launched its first collection in Spring/Summer 2012, was created by the historic Parisian house of Balmain Paris in partnership with Ittierre SpA.
