Christian Louboutin

Christian Louboutin presents the Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

Inspired by cultural touchstones ranging from Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita to the art and architecture of the American Southwest, Christian Louboutin’s SS15 collection unites a riot of references, colours, and textures. New shoe and handbag styles join returning favourites, with updated colours, materials, and details energizing the product mix. The collection highlights the brand’s commitment to technical innovation, starting with the new Mirage heel. The wavy stiletto appears in several designs, including the Dalida, the Deepik, and the Vagachina. Another standout style is the Tibur, an update of the iconic So Kate, this shoe features a cutaway toe that flashes a hint of skin, without the full exposure of a traditional peep-toe design. Women continue to borrow from the men, with the sleek Platt Dance Flat, the cork-soled Liegina, the On Stage oxford, the embroidered Nananas slipper, and a new black-and-white Zazou brogue. Key themes uncovered in the new collection also include:
 SPORTIF: Trainers get the stiletto treatment in the statement Boltina, and transparent panels give a go-faster air to Bandy.
ROCKER CHIC: Fringing, spikes and metal detail bring attitude to Onstage, Otrot and the Vicky bootie.
 AQUATIC UNIVERSE: Water tones and ombré python designs evoke the sea, as with the Dalida in opaline leather, So Kate in python aquarium, and Rougissime in Python Inferno.
CRAFTSMANSHIP: Skilled artisans apply their expertise in embroidery and jewellery to detailed styles like Salopatina, Top Vague, and Devibroda. In handbags, the best-selling Sweet Charity family gets a new member: the Sweety Charity Backpack. Tiny yet bold, the backpack comes on embellished, jewellery-like straps – perfect for hands free dancing. Also new is the Passage Shopper. The top-handle tote bag with optional shoulder straps makes a sleek addition to the Passage line in colours including black, opaline (turquoise), orange, and grey. To interpret the collection, Christian Louboutin once again collaborated with photographer Peter Lippmann for the SS15 lookbook. This season, Lippmann suggests that one should never take off their Louboutins, even in the bath, with a series called Water in Love. The Spring-Summer 2015 collection is available for purchase at Christian Louboutin boutiques and on www.ChristianLouboutin.com from November 25th.
