The Definition of Luxury
Today, the definition of what is a genuine luxury item is in flux. There are iconic images that come to mind when one mentions the word “Luxury.”  In the 1950s this was often associated with luxury automobiles, in the eighties, luxury was associated with flash of logos. Today, luxury is currently turning towards “authenticity of design”.  BEAVALDES has been fortunate to find partners in this business that are helping us redefine and preserve this experience on a global scale .
"The couture-buying client has changed. Many people are looking for these kind of  pieces in  the present climate," Carmen Busquets tells VOGUE.COM. "I look for individuality in  the artisans I work with for CoutureLab; a loving relationship with the product and care in the construction, along with the story behind it, make couture desirable to consumers looking for something that cannot be mass-produced."… not much more than a hundred, but the DNA is the same," "Customers want to buy something which is not expensive because of a label but which is costly because of the time taken to produce it.”

With this movement towards the “enduring investment pieces” , BEAVALDES
continues  to receive affirmation  for our work from influential advocates of Luxury :

Voted One of the Top Five Designers of the Year for 2008 by the JC Report

“… We've been globetrotting all year to bring you the most relevant fashion lifestyle news from every crevice of the planet. As we look forward to 2009, we bring you a series of "Top 5" lists looking back on an eventful 2008. From the Philippines to London, the first roundup features our top picks for the five best designers of the last year.”

“It's no secret that accessories market is competitive, but the Philippines-based Bea Valdes came out of nowhere and sparkled like a rare gem. Ever since Valdes was featured in a 2005 American Vogue profile and on our virtual pages last year, her show-stopping, crystal-engulfed bags and oversize necklaces gained some serious traction. But this year, her wares rode the statement jewelry trend, and are now must have pieces at prestigious international retailers such as Podium in Moscow, Barneys in New York, Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong and Couturelab online. “  – The JC Report. Superfine London is a high-end, fashion clothing brand created in 2003 by Lucy Pinter and Flora Evans. Innovative style leader, Superfine is making rock'n roll jeans with a real London attitude. As one of the first pioneers of the skinny jean silhouette, it quickly gathered a dedicated following around the world and is a point of reference for many of today’s most influential style icons. A bit punk, a bit purist, the label has led the way with clean looking jeans, free from branding. Embracing denim's effortlessness, the focus has been fit and fabric with clever, often hidden details. Remaining strong and edgy in its simplicity, Superfine continues to explore inventive and specialized denim treatments. Now run and designed by Lucy, collections expand on fresh jean silhouettes with a full ready to wear collection and quality reaches a new premium in collaboration with licensee Pier Spa. This has been key to the evolution of Superfine today as a high-end, fashion denim brand with production in Italy.
