TOYWATCH AT THE 2013 EDITION OF MOST:
LANGUAGE, FASHION AND DESIGN CONTAMINATION
LANGUAGE, FASHION AND DESIGN CONTAMINATION
ToyWatch is present at the 2013 edition of MOST, the exhibit set up within
the National Museum of Science and Technology during the Milan International
Furniture Show, where design excellence goes on display from 9 to 14 April. MOST,
the centre of activity conceived and curated by famous British designer Tom
Dixon, brings together world-renowned brands and emerging designers to
promote the cultural innovation that will dictate new design trends and styles.
The installation created by ToyWatch for MOST 2013 expresses three core values of the brand: design, conceived as an ongoing search for forms and styles, as embodied in the ToyViper collection; the materials, veritable innovation drivers, providing endless opportunities for explorations and contaminations, which find expression in the ToyMrHyde collection; hand-made a notion that underscores the value of manual work which becomes art and creates precious objects: one-of-a-kind pieces whose uniqueness is reflected in the details, as in the watches making up the Maya collection.
The triptych opens with a homage to Design, where the essence of charm and femininity is revisited in an ironic and contemporary style: the ToyViper watches, made from silicone, are wrapped around graceful and seductive arms. Soft and velvety to the touch, they bring to mind the theme of the snake, the mythological symbol of temptation and knowledge.

In the centre of the installation, the Handmade section features ethno-chic colours and atmospheres for the ToyWatch Maya collection: the interlocks and patterns of ethnic fabrics permeate the environment, evoking lands, cultures and customs of Central and South American peoples.
Born of the fusion of cosmopolitan inspirations of different origins, the Maya Wool timepieces combine the delicate, quintessential lines of their refined 1930s style dial with the elaborate weave and the exotic flair of the handcrafted band.
The ToyMrHyde collection plays the star role in the last section of the triptych, dedicated to Materials. The installation reflects the mood of the collection: an abstract rendering of three heads, half covered by an output of colours, yellow, azure and orange, to symbolise the touch of folly inherent in the personality of everyone. ToyMrHyde watches illustrate this notion most effectively: the two two-colour layers of plasteramic merge, the material is hand-polished using jeweller’s techniques which give it a ceramic-like quality while retaining the light-weight characteristic typical of this material.
ToyWatch timepieces are accessories born of innovative design and up-to-the-minute technology: a careful study of colours, forms and materials interprets the excellence of Italian style and design in an ongoing process of research culminating in the creation of absolutely unique products.

A modern translation and celebration of
FENDI's DNA: a contemporary re-reading of fur and the new Selleria.
Fur is ubiquitous and is sublimated by
innovative craftsmanship and technology.
Sport Couture: FENDIs new perceptions and
hierarchy of materials. Double cashmere, silk, precious wools often doubled
with neoprene. Many three-dimensional embroidery and trompe l’oeil: the
craftsmanship on fabrics and leathers mimics fur and vice versa.
Form and functionality are in a constant
dialogue: silhouettes and volumes are neat, anatomic, feminine, rounded, often
geometrical, architectural, in
one word modern.
Metamorphic minks and foxes play with the
animalier FENDI codes, creating a magnified opulence of rare and precious
manufacture.
Polychromic pastel tones, intarsia and
stripes, versus withes and pure vivid colors.

Ultra-soft Cuoio Romano or sellier
leather, mirrored plexiglass, printed pony, inlayed mink, weightless nappa.
Pointed pumps, boots and lace-ups have
mirrored and multi-faceted heels.
