Prada

Prada Fall/Winter 2014 Women’s Advertising Campaign

Powerful geometric architecture contrasts with the smoky sensuality of Argentinian beauty Mica Arganaraz in Prada’s fall/winter 2014 womenswear campaign, shot by Steven Meisel.
Undulating art-deco prints and a mass of raw shearling contrast the grey modernism – concrete curves and steel-grey windowpanes reflecting the surrounding nature – while front and centre Arganaraz commands attention.
There is a feminine strength shared by Arganaraz, the face of the season, and her concrete playground, amplified by Meisel’s low angles and play of perspective. Yet there is softness as well as power. Around her neck a scarf flows, chevron knitwear slouches at her thigh and bags are supple as silk. The presence of Karl Kolbitz at Arganaraz’s side infuses the pictures with a subtle chemistry, and hints at a human story.
The bag campaign captures Arganaraz alone, and zooms in on contrasts of texture and form. Exquisite saffiano leather and crocodile rest on a rough concrete wall, literally enveloping it with softness. Shoe and eyewear shots reframe thesurroundings, close-ups shifting our perception of proportion and scale.
A subtle duet between two protagonists, between light and dark, tough and sensuous, stark and ornate, the campaign captures the avant-garde spirit and human storytelling at the heart of the new collection.
A video of the campaign will be unveiled soon on www.prada.com

Campagna pubblicitaria Prada Donna
Collezione Autunno/Inverno 2014

Charlotte Ronson

Born in London into an artistic family and raised in New York, Charlotte Ronson followed the tradition by developing her own unique style at an early age. In 2000, Ronson launched her first collection, C. Ronson, which gained instant recognition and the attention of renowned publications. In May 2002, Ronson opened her flagship boutique in New York’s hip Nolita neighborhood. In 2005 the collection was re-named “Charlotte Ronson” – a natural evolution of the brand and an accurate reflection of who Charlotte is and what she and her customer want to wear. As a fixture in the fabric of New York City life, Ronson has fostered many relationships with family and friends and developed a number of strategic partnerships resulting in innovative collaborationssuch as Shoshanna Made With Love Charlotte Ronson and Charlotte Ronson x Uniqlo. Known for her impeccable style and trendsetting designs, Ronson’s clothing and accessories have quickly become a favorite among such fashion forward celebrities, models and influencers including Blake Lively, Kirsten Dunst, Nicole Richie, Rihanna, Diane Kruger, Leighton Meester, and Kate Moss. Charlotte Ronson has become one of the most sought after American womenswear designers and her New York Fashion Week runway shows are a must see event. Her success has also lead to design deals with some of America’s largest, respected retailers and has catapulted her into the spotlight. In 2008, Ronson designed Play by C. Ronson, a diffusion line exclusive to Urban Outfitters, sold in over 100 of their retail stores nationwide and online. Ronson and JCPenney have signed a long-term deal with the Texas-based retailer with a full contemporary sportswear collection. I [Heart] Ronson for JCPenney made its debut in Spring 2009 hitting 600 of Penney’s stores as well as their online site and catalogues. In 2011 Charlotte Ronson was inducted into the CFDA and launched the Charlotte Ronson Beauty line with Sephora and in 2012 Charlotte Ronson launched the Charlotte Ronson handbag collection with Artisan House.

FALL / WINTER 2014

Charlotte Ronson’s Fall / Winter 2014 collection is a modern take on Little Lord Fauntleroy. This season tells the story of a cryptic and cute woman compelled by mystery and darkness. Ronson's handsome, feminine collection reprises her signature scalloped details, now accenting richly tailored separates: bouclé cropped sweaters, laser-cut leather dresses, A-line jackets, and black-on-black leather rose embroidery is complimented by elaborate lace, ruffles, sheer chiffon and mesh inserts. Ronson's protagonist-muse is creative, smart, just a little bit spooky, and a hopeless romantic, as evidenced by the flower prints throughout the collection: poppies on plush velvet and tangles of rose print on crepes.

THE FALL / WINTER 2014 COLLECTION:

Australian designer Rebecca Vallance makes her New York Fashion Week debut this season with her aptly named collection, “Lady’s Man.” Through a mixture of menswear-inspired cuts and her signature ladylike details, Vallance delivers an alluringly androgynous lineup for Fall / Winter 2014.
“My previous collections had more of a soft femininity,” explains Vallance, “and this season my eye has been drawn to a more androgynous style. This collection illustrates a sharp identity and a taste of what the brand is growing into.”
Vallance’s craftsmanship takes center stage in her exploration of gender dichotomies. Fundamentally masculine pieces, like collared shirts and pintucked trousers, are perfectly tailored to envelop the female form. Pencil skirts with daringly high slits, paired with structured jackets, are this season’s power suits. Boxy tops and moto jackets offset flirty, pleated skirts and fluidly draped dresses.
Texture and print are central to Vallance’s aesthetic, and these elements prove particularly important in defining this season's “lady’s man.” Inherently masculine materials, like a navy hopsack and brown grid-print wool, are used for the collection’s most feminine silhouettes, including A-line dresses and curve hugging gowns. Conversely, the use of Broderie and lattice-woven fabrics lend subtle feminine charm to the collection’s more masculine cuts.
Vallance also shapes her “lady’s man” through the use of innovative techniques and high-quality fabrics, sourced from France and Italy. Treatments like lacquering and bonding are used to craft strong, bold shapes that accentuate the female figure, while snakeskin-effect leather and animal print lace inject the collection with a dose of luxe sex appeal.
