ACNE STUDIOS OPENS ITS FIRST STORE IN JAPAN

“For our first store in Asia, we wanted to bring a piece of Sweden to Tokyo.  Within the 260 square meter space we wanted to create a house within the store.  The concept was to morph a modern Swedish house within a retail location. For me it becomes an important landmark, to create a little Swedish home on  the other side of the world, offering something which is a total Stockholm  experience. Acne Studios Aoyama will carry Acne Studios Women’s, Men’s,  denim and accessories collections on three floors, with the men’s ready-to-wear, denim and accessories on the basement floor, the women’s ready-to-wear, accessories and shoes on the ground floor and women’s denim on the first floor.”

“If we were to design a modern Stockholm house this would be it. Regarding the store materials, the word collage is very important. For Acne Studios Aoyama we collaged juxtaposing textures and materials such as
pop dyed wood, stone and new age stones such as blue granite hoping to emulate the Swedish summer light. Interior colours range from pale pink, to Yves Klein blue, to grey and black. We also worked with transparent partitions which both reveal and conceal, constrain and liberate – a sort of sexy Swedish thing.”

MR PORTER.COM and ACNE Studios launch exclusive Capsule Collection on Nov 13th

Based on the classic tuxedo, ACNE in collaboration with MRPORTER.COM presents an eveningwear capsule collection, launching in November.  The collection of 14 pieces is a complete eveningwear wardrobe.  Classic tuxedo shapes in wool and velvet accompany bespoke jacquard fabrics and silks.  Pieces include smoking jackets and trousers, an evening overcoat, formal shirting, a tuxedo T shirt, bow ties and shoes.

‘We have worked with ACNE from the launch of MR PORTER and are delighted that they have been willing to further develop our relationship. This collection provides everything a man could need where evening attire is required and is designed with the most beautiful fabrications and attention to detail.’
Toby Bateman, Buying Director

The collection will be launched exclusively on Mr Porter today, on November 13.

ACNE STUDIOS

ACNE STUDIOS is a Swedish fashion brand founded in Stockholm in 1996 by head designer and creative director Jonny Johansson. With its foundation in jeans ACNE STUDIOS is today a full-fledged fashion house producing six ready-to-wear collections per year for men and women that are presented during the international fashion weeks. ACNE STUDIOS has stores in Amsterdam, Antwerp, Bergen, Berlin, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Hamburg, London, Melbourne, New York, Oslo, Paris, Stavanger, Stockholm and Sydney. At the heart of the company lies an ideology of developing creative projects as an extension to the signature fashion collections.
