WORLD PREMIERE OF DESMOND TUTU FILM

World Premiere
On Sunday June 8, 2014 the world premiere of the documentary film “Children of the Light” featuring 1984 Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu of South Africa will occur at the Monte Carlo Television Festival hosted by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.

This film, the second in a Nobel Legacy series produced by the PeaceJam Foundation, features the life story of Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the crucial role he played in bringing about the miracle in South Africa and is narrated by Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s daughter, Naomi Tutu.
Searing images from his own life, from the struggle against apartheid, and from the heart breaking yet inspiring truth and reconciliation process in South Africa will move across the screen, as Archbishop Desmond Tutu leads us on a journey back in time.
The film will then take viewers around the globe to see the work of five young activists and leaders who were inspired and formed by the example of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and who are now creating social change in their own communities – in Peru, in Burma, in East Timor, in India, and in South Africa.
The film ends with Archbishop Desmond Tutu sharing his reflections on what it takes to create social change in the modern world, based on the hard won wisdom of his own life – he will talk about the importance of courage, of community, of tenacity, of faith, and of patience, as we see images from the South African struggle, and other struggles for social justice and human rights around the world, run across the screen.
On June 9, Google Play will offer a world-wide release of PeaceJam's new film, "Children of the Light" as a Google Play Exclusive in 70 countries around the world as part of the International Launch of the PeaceJam Foundation’s One Billion Acts of Peace Campaign.
