Jason Wu
Influenced by the classic photography of Richard Avedon and the works of Charles James and Jacques Fath, designer Jason Wu aims to revitalize the art and perfection of dressing with a relaxed and youthful attitude. Born in Taipei, but having also lived in Vancouver and Paris, he combines modern dressing with the spirit and detailing of haute couture.
At the age of 14, Jason studied sculpture in Tokyo and then spent his senior year of high school in Paris, where was inspired to become a fashion designer. Wu then enrolled in the prestigious Parsons School of Design and interned with Narciso Rodriguez. In 2006 Wu debuted his signature collection, quickly emerging as one of the leading new American designers. Winner of the 2010 CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear, today Jason is well known for creating First Lady Michelle Obama's Inaugural gown and is a favorite among press, stylists and celebrities.
